Police
should probe for illegal alcohol sales It seems from following the articles and letters that the general public is not very supportive of the way the sting alcohol sale matter was handled by the police department and the city of Fayetteville. I fully support the police department conducting investigations into allegations of alcohol sales to those under 21 if complaints have been lodged against a particular place of business. Investigating is what the police are supposed to do. I do not believe it is right for a department to generate criminal acts as a result of its own actions to dupe someone into violating a city ordinance. This type of operation is borderline entrapment. The question still remains, would most reasonable persons believe this person was over 21? I also find it curious that this operation did not become public knowledge until after the city elections! Hmmm! Lee Hunt
