Alcohol attitude is `amusing'

Fayetteville's paranoid attitude concerning alcohol would be amusing except for the fact that it hurts all county residents. No? Then what about the lost tax revenues when county residents go to neighboring counties to do their shopping?

I live about half way between Fayetteville and Peachtree City. I always did my shopping in Fayetteville. But for the month of January, at least, I will be doing my shopping elsewhere.

I do not know which restaurant or grocery store can sell a glass or bottle of wine. It will be easier to just shop elsewhere. Some of my shopping will be in Peachtree City. As everyone knows, Peachtree City restaurants normally get a lot of their business from Fayetteville, but now, lines will be even longer. It seems that the only solution is to go out of the county. Fayetteville will lose about $900 worth of business from my household alone. About $400 to $500 of that will go out of the county.

From age 15 or 16, I always had an ID card, showing that I was 18 (the legal age then). Is there anyone in Fayetteville that thinks that that doesn't happen now? Oh, well, I guess it is easier to stick one's head in the sand and ignore the facts.
