Dunn leads Bush bid in Fayette

The presidential campaign for Texas Gov. George W. Bush has named Fayette County Commissioner Greg Dunn chairman of the local Bush for President organization.

Dunn will serve throughout the governor's campaign for the presidency next year.

“We are honored to have Greg on board our team,” said U.S. Sen. Paul Coverdell, honorary state chairman and Senate liaison of Bush's campaign. “This show of support for Gov. Bush demonstrates both the breadth and depth of enthusiasm for him across our great state.

“Additionally,” said Coverdell, “it gives Gov. Bush a tremendous advantage in Georgia. Our supporters are mobilized to elect Gov. Bush as our next president.”

Eric Tanenblatt, state campaign chairman, said, “we are assembling what is perhaps the strongest and most united group of community, business, professional and political leaders ever assembled in Georgia on behalf of a presidential candidate.

“Greg is going to be a major asset to the Bush campaign and to Gov. Bush's success in Georgia,” he added. “He is going to be a major factor in our effort, and his leadership will be important to us throughout the election.”
