golfer is favorite in junior tourney By MICHAEL
BOYLAN The course at Stone Mountain Golf Club will be covered with junior golfers this weekend as the Internatioal Junior Golf Tour arrives for The Peachtree Junior Championship. This annual event includes 85 top ranked junior golfers between the ages of 11-19 for 36 holes of stroke play competition. The local favorite this year is very local for fans in Fayette County, it is David Werener, a 16 year old scratch golfer from Peachtree City. Werner won the Maxfli golf championship qualifier this past summer and has several top three finishes in A.J.G.A tournaments. Play begins at 8 a.m., on Saturday, Dec. 11 and the final round begins at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 12. Stone Mountain Golf Club is located just east of Atlanta in Stone Mountain Park. Spectators are encouraged to come out to the event and witness some terrific golf action. |
