Ten years ago, the first Original Mattress Factory opened in metro Atlanta.

Today, the store has eight locations throughout the region, including one in Fayetteville.

“We have been widely accepted in the community. Our company philosophy seems to match perfectly with our Fayette shoppers,” said store manager and Fayette County resident Jay Johnson.

Johnson explained that the company takes the confusion out of mattress shopping by displaying cut-aways of the mattresses for customers to examine.

The company can sell mattresses so reasonably, he added, because his company makes the mattresses in their own factories and eliminates the middle-man mark-up.

“Our prices stay the same year-round. We do not have phoney sales or gimmicks,” he said.

Johnson says it important for residents to continue shopping in their home county.

“Our consumer dollars support local businesses and our sales tax dollars support our community services,” he added.

The store is located at 770 N. Glynn Street in Fayetteville.
