`Santa Social' trip to Warm Springs set

Fayetteville Christian Church is sponsoring a "Santa Social" shopping excursion to the Warm Springs/Pine Mountain area on Saturday, Dec. 4. Lunch at Raintree Farms at Waverly Hall, a Bed and Breakfast, is included in the cost of $16.05. Call Marcy Kincaid at 770-460-5229 to sign up.

Nativity Episcopal plans Advent services

The Episcopal Church of the Nativity is holding a reflective communion service at 5 p.m. each Saturday evenings during Advent. Services began Nov. 27. Holiday shoppers who are spiritually hungry may find in this contemplative Anglican service "food for the Christmas spirit." Nativity is in a shopping center across the highway near the entrance to the Fayette Pavilion. All are welcome. For more information, call the church at 770-460-6390.

Heritage Center offers Christmas programs

The children of Heritage Christian Center present "Angels Aware" on Sunday, Dec. 5, at 6 p.m. The center's adult choir will present "Journey of Hope" on Sunday, Dec. 12, at 7 p.m. Both programs will be held at Braelinn Elementary School, 957 Robinson Road, Peachtree City.

River's Edge presents `Scrooge' Dec. 9-11

River's Edge Community Church will present its fourth annual performance of `Scrooge...A Christmas Miracle' on Dec. 9-11 Jesse McCorvey will once again portray Scrooge. This years's performance features a new format with new sets and new scenes for a different twist on the Charles Dickens' classic. Tickets are $2 and are available in the church foyer and before and after each worship service. This is a dessert theater.

Heritage Center offers Christmas programs

McDonough Road youth plan fund-raiser

The youth of McDonough Road Baptist Church have planned a special day of childcare on Dec. 4 to raise funds for their upcoming ski trip and to allow parents a day for Christmas shopping. The Ladies Ministry will also have a Cookie Swap the same day. Hours will be 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Lunch and a movie are included in the day's activities. Donations will be accepted. New Hope presents `A Place You Can Call Home'

New Hope Baptist Church will present "A Place You Can Call Home," a musical featuring the story of a young lieutenant coming home from World War II just in time for Christmas, Thursday, Dec. 9 through Sunday, Dec. 12, at 7 p.m. Afternoon performances are scheduled at 3 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The production is a combined effort of New Hope's adult, youth and children's choirs along with the New Hope Church orchestra and drama ministry. For free tickets, call 770-460-4838.

Providence UMC choirs celebrate the season

Providence United Methodist Church choirs will present two musicals celebrating the newborn king in song and verse this season. The children's choirs will present the musican Candy Cane Lane at the 11 a.m. worship service on Sunday, Dec. 5. The adult choir, accompanied by a full symphony orchestra, will present the cantata, “Mary, Did You Know?” at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 12.

Fayetteville 1st Baptist plans family outing

Members of Fayetteville First Baptist are planning a family holiday outing Saturday, Dec. 18, to Callaway Gardens' Fantasy in Lights. The excursion will depart from the church at 4 p.m. Cost is $5 per adult, $4 for children age six to 17, $2 for children age three to five, for a family maximum cost of $20. Fee covers park admission and Jolly Trolley tour. Dinner at the park is not included. For more information, contact the church office at 770-461-8378.

Fayetteville Christian presents Christmas Musical

The Shepherd's Son' plays Dec. 19

The children, youth and adult choirs of Christ Our Hope Lutheran Church will present "The Shepherd's Son" on Sunday, Dec. 19, at 8:30 and 11 a.m. The church is located at 2165 Hwy. 138 in Riverdale.
