Bike club likes bike lane proposal

I understand it may be possible to have bike lanes included on the new bypass routes to be constructed in the future in Fayette County.

Fayette Biking for Life, Inc., bicycle club appreciates the consideration of adding bike lanes when planning the new routes around the congested areas in Fayetteville. These lanes offer an alternative to current means of transportation which will help congestion as well as a place for motorists in distress, accommodation for sanitation, postal service and utility vehicles and a safety feature for cyclists.

Fayette Biking for Life, Inc. (FBL) is very interested in improving bicycling conditions in the area; in fact, our members who ride their bicycles to work have serious concerns related to safety. Further, there are bicyclists who would ride to work and run errands on their bikes if road conditions were better. FBL would welcome any opportunity to provide input into the establishment and improvement of roads conducive to cycling or into the procurement of funds for this purpose.
