United Way, Saturn, union combine in toy collection

The Coweta/Fayette office of United Way is participating for the first time this year in the Presents from Partners toy drive.

Atlanta area Saturn dealers, local AFL-CIO labor unions and the United Way of Metropolitan Atlanta are working together to collect thousands of toys for children in need.

The drive officially runs through Monday, Dec. 20 at all area Saturn retail facilities, with additional collection locations at united Way's downtown and county offices.

Toys will be distributed to several local charities.

“We are looking forward to doubling the number of toys received last year so that many children in Atlanta and the surrounding counties can enjoy the holidays,” said Walt Cleveland, community services labor liaison for the United Way/AFL-CIO.

Coweta and Fayette residents can bring new, unwrapped toys to the United Way office in the Rutledge Building at 61 Hospital Road, Newnan. Toys will go to the Breakaway Child Care Center and Child Protective Services in Coweta, and the Pregnancy Resource Center in Fayette.

For information phone Fayette United Way at 770-719-2252.
