Especially at this holiday season of the year, parents, husbands and wives painfully wait near the phone and watch the door and the mailbox for the return of the prodigal son or daughter or spouse. It is a time of gut wrenching prayer and introspection as to what is going through the minds and hearts of the prodigals that have left their homes and families to find themselves. This subject is so prevalent in today's society that many of the pastors on the south side of Atlanta that meet each week for our unity fellowship breakfast have banded together to deal with this issue. If you have a prodigal family member that you would like for us to uplift in prayer, there is a wonderful opportunity for this to happen. We meet for prayer the first Thursday of every month at noon at Sams Auditorium at the old Fayette County High School. You are always invited each month to participate with us. On this particular Thursday, Dec. 2, our monthly prayer group consisting of pastors and prayer warriors will be meeting to uplift our prodigal prayer requests. If you need prayer in this area, you can come and give the first name of the individual for whom you request prayer, or just give the initials. These requests will then be lifted up to the throne room of heaven to the very ear of God, asking him to restore these situations for his glory and to the needs of your family. If that is not enough there is still another wonderful opportunity to uplift your prodigal requests. On the same day, Thursday, Dec. 2 at 7 p.m. the same pastors and prayer warrior group will be gathering at the Fayetteville Church of God, 895 South Highway 85, Fayetteville to conduct an interdenominational area-wide worship service for the purpose of uplifting our prodigals again to almighty God. Pastor Roger Powell will be our gracious host. To God be the glory; great things he has done! To my knowledge, this type of Christian cooperation of pastors and churches meeting together for this express purpose has not happened before. Don't suffer in silence with these issues. Come and be a part of a group of people that believe that God can and will move to restore our families and our marriages. [The Rev. Dr. Knox Herndon is the pastor of His House Community Church (SBC), a substitute school teacher in the Fayette County school system, and a former Army chaplain. The church is currently meeting in the American Legion Log Cabin across from the fountain on the Square in Fayetteville. Prayer line 770-719-2365; e-mail Khern2365@aol.com]
