Peachtree City Packers win 60 lb. Superbowl

The 60 pound Peachtree City packers won the Division II Championship Super Bowl Saturday, defeating the Jonesboro Bulldogs 18-6.

The championship capped a magical year for the Packers, who finished the season with an overall record of 11-1. It marked the first championship for a 60 pound Peachtree City team.

The team played in front of a loud and packed crowd at the North park Fields in Alpharetta. Both teams were fired up for the game and came ready to play.

Although the Packers won both meetings during the regular season, neither team was intimidated. They showed their desire to take home the trophy from the very beginning.

The game was filled with big hits, exciting runs and hard tackles. The Packers won with a relentless ground attack on offense and a stifling, aggressive defense that frustrated the Bulldogs all day.

The Packers compete in the Georgia Youth Football League and play with teams throughout the Atlanta metro area. The team is coached by Jamie Usher, Doug Brantley, Paul Trolinger, Len Donevant and Robbie Davis.
