Oddo says thanks for support

To the voters of Fayetteville:

Well, now that the elections are over, it's time to take stock of what we accomplished and to look to the future. For my part, after I took a deep breath and plunged into the waters of the political campaign, I found that much of the process is enjoyable. On the plus side, walking door to door not only introduced me to my neighbors, it also helped keep my waist trim! On the minus side, because the campaign period was short, getting out the message was a challenge.

But overall, I enjoyed the campaign process. In fact, I would encourage others to get involved, too! And involvement includes actually going to the polling place and casting your vote. To those of you who went to the polls and voted for me, all I can say is many thanks for the confidence you showed in me. To those of you who didn't vote for me, well, I'll just have to work harder to convince you to vote for me next time.

Remember, it's important to exercise your right to vote. In fact, voting is very important. One of the reasons for the Declaration of Independence was that England had, at times, refused the colonies the right to hold elections.

So to those who for one reason or another didn't vote at all, I ask you to exercise your right to vote the next time you have the opportunity. Anyway, I know if we put our minds to it, Fayetteville can turn out a larger percentage of voters than Peachtree City!

Well, that's about it for now. Till next time, remember, the only sure things in life are death and taxes. It's too bad they don't come in that order!
