race of the century to be held at Atlanta Motor Speedway By
MICHAEL BOYLAN This weekend marks the final racing weekend of the year and of the century. The NAPA 500, part of the Winston Cup Series, will be held at Atlanta Motor Speedway on Sunday, Nov. 21, but there will be plenty of racing action in the days leading up to the final NASCAR race of the year. Today will be Georgia Boot Pole Day, which includes ARCA qualifying and Winston Cup Series practices. ARCA practice sessions begin at 8:30 a.m. and NASCAR practice begins at 11:30. Tickets will be $15. Saturday will begin with NASCAR practice at 9:30 a.m., followed by qualifying at 11 a.m. The Georgia Boot 400 will begin at 1 p.m. and will be followed by the Winston Cup Series Happy Hour. Sunday will begin with pre-race activities, beginning at 9:30 a.m. Driver introductions will begin at noon and the race will start at 12:30 p.m. The race will consist of 325 laps and though Dale Jarrett has already captured the Winston Cup series title, the race is sure to an exciting one. There are a limited amount of tickets left for Sunday's race, priced at $60 and $90. Tickets can be purchased at the Atlanta Motor Speedway box office or a Ticketmaster outlet. |
