The Peachtree City Council recently renewed a moratorium on all annexations. But the council members left the door open to consider annexing nearly 1,000 acres north of Ga. Highway 54 and west of Ga. Highway 74.

I was complaining to my wife about my lack of time and bemoaning the fact that I had to attend a denominational meeting. The lack of time is due to my taking several seminary courses in order to finish a master's degree program that I began a zillion years ago. During the spring, I traveled to Springfield, Mo., for a week of courses, followed by a course in Lakeland, Fla. This fall I took another course in Lakeland and, recently, I was involved in yet another course in Philadelphia.

'Big boxes' threaten PTC quality of life

If someone should ask you how things are going in Peachtree City, tell them that we are being “saturated” and “cannibalized.” You can explain to them that those terms are retail jargon used by the “big box” stores like Home Depot and Wal-Mart that are coming to Peachtree City.

PTC citizens must turn out to stop 'big boxes'

Monday, Nov. 22, could be a turning point in our city's future. On that evening at 7 p.m. at City Hall, the Peachtree City Planning Commission will meet to review the site plan for the Home Depot store which is planned for Ga. Highway 54, just west of the ga. Highway 74 intersection.
