Prodigal prayer service planned for December 2

A Prodigal Prayer Meeting has been set for Fayette area churches, Thursday, Dec. 2, at 7 p.m. Unlike other unity events, this service is designed strictly for parents with children who have become prodigals.

“Realizing the Christmas season brings additional pain to parents of prodigals, we sense a burden to address the issue in the most powerful way possible and that's prayer,” said Dr. John Hatcher, the spokesman for organizing pastors.

The prayer service will take place at the Fayetteville Church of God, located at the intersection of Ga. Hwy. 85 and Ga. Hwy. 92, South (across from the south side Eckerd's).

To highlight the event, area pastors are being encouraged to preach from the story of the Prodigal Son out of Luke's Gospel on Sunday, Nov. 28.

“The prayer service has been designed to make welcome individuals from all Christian faiths,” Dr. Hatcher added.
