David Chancey is new pastor at McDonough Road Baptist

McDonough Road Baptist church in Fayetteville has called Dr. David L. Chancey as pastor effective Nov. 1. Chancey, who was previously pastor of Cool Springs Baptist Church in Tate for the past 81/2 years, delivered his first sermon last Sunday.

Chancey and his wife Amy have four children: Rebecca, 18; Rachel, 16; Ruth, 13; and Jonathan, 9.

He has served in the Georgia Baptist Convention as a member of the executive committee, the cooperative program budget committee, and the capital improvements and endowment committee. He has also served as camp pastor at Youth II music camp. He is a native of Milledgeville.

Chancey is a graduate of Georgia Southern University, Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, where he received the doctor of ministry degree.

“I'm really looking forward to working with the congregation at McDonough Road and getting my family settled in this community,” Chancey said. “I feel really blessed to be a part of this outstanding church family.”
