Berachah Bible Church plans Parenting Teens Conference

The argument over the last donut. The cry of nothing to wear a half hour before the school late bell sounds. The familiar words, “I'm the only one whose parents make them...” Teen hassles that disrupt parents' lives? Or prime opportunities to connect with, listen to and nurture our kids?

These are just some of the topics to be discussed at a Parenting Teens Conference scheduled for this Saturday, Nov. 20, from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. at Berachah Bible Church.

The conference speaker will be Paul Tripp, M. Div., D. Min., author, pastor and former principal of a Christian school he helped found. Academic Dean from 1987-1997, Tripp is now director of Changing Lives Ministries for the Christian Counseling and Educational Foundation. He is the author of “Age of Opportunity: A Biblical Guide to Parenting Teens” and a certified Christian conciliator. He is married and the father of four children.

“Age of Opportunity will give you a biblical definition of teens, will help you set biblical goals for parenting your teenager, and will give you many practical biblical strategies for accomplishing those goals, “ a spokesperson said. “This is `must' material for all parents of teens and pre-teens.”

Registration fee is $10 per person or $15 per family and includes lunch.

Berachah is located at 310 Corinth Rd. off Ga. Hwy. 85, three miles south of Riverdale. For more information or directions, call the church at 770-461-2466 or contact by e-mail at berachah@bellsouth.net.
