Truck hijinks lead

A
nighttime display of his truck's power landed a
Fayetteville teenager in custody over the
weekend.
Jeremy
Thomas, 19, faces a charge of driving under the
influence after his arrest just after midnight
Saturday morning on Ga. Highway 85. He was
driving a white 1991 Chevrolet Silverado pickup,
according to police reports.
He
was also charged with laying drags, meaning he
was loudly squealing his tires as he pulled out
onto the street.
A
passenger in the car, 20-year-old Eric Wooten of
Jonesboro, was charged with underage possession
of alcohol.
In
an unrelated incident last weekend, a routine
traffic stop led to a drug arrest for a
42-year-old Jonesboro man.
Charles
D. Strickland was stopped at the Kroger at Banks
Road and Ga. Highway 85, where he was charged
with possession of cocaine and marijuana, reports
stated.

incidents in Fayetteville over the weekend
included:
” A report taken Friday of a
theft of nine cases of beer at a local business.
” A driver arrested Thursday
for driving on a suspended license, interference
with police, and failure to produce a license on
demand.
” A driver arrested Friday for
possession of marijuana.
” A driver arrested Saturday
for possession of marijuana and driving without a
license.
” A driver arrested Friday for
driving under the influence and an improper lane
change.
” A person picked up Saturday
on County Line Road on an outstanding warrant
from Fayetteville for failure to appear.
” A driver and passenger
arrested Sunday for possession of marijuana.
” A driver arrested Sunday for
using a license plate to control identity, no
insurance, and possession of marijuana (a
passenger also was charged with possession of
marijuana).
” A driver arrested Sunday for
driving under the influence, weaving on the
roadway and speeding.
