Library closed for Y2K project

The Fayette County Public Library will be closed Wednesday, Nov. 17 through Wednesday, Nov. 24 for upgrades to its computer system to ensure Y2K preparedness.

In addition to the upgrade, experts will install the new Public Information Network for Electronic Services, a wide area network on the Internet that allows library users access to library collections throughout the state.

Following the Thanksgiving holidays, the library will reopen Saturday, Nov. 27 at 9 a.m.

During the down time, patrons can return books in the book depository.
