Gallopade
celebrates 20 years of informing kids One of Peachtree City's newest businesses has just celebrated a milestone. Gallopade International began as Gallopade Publishing 20 years ago in Rocky Mount, N.C.. This year, the children's ok publisher celebrated its 20th anniversary by changing its name to Gallopade International to better reflect its status as a profitable, privately-owned publishing company. The company started in 1979 like many small presses did at that time; a single person, an idea, little or no money and far away from the publishing capital of New York. Founder Carole Marsh didn't care about any of that. She only cared about writing a single children's mystery book, getting it into print and doing all the marketing and sales herself. This philosophy has slowly evolved into a company that has more than 10,000 books and software titles in print and is sold internationally. The database of published material we own allows us to mix and match, add to, update and otherwise enhance and transform quality writing into a variety of products that are always timely, because they are not printed and bound until an order for them is received, said Marsh. One of the company's specialities is books about the 50 states. The company publishes a trivia-based book for each state, along with other educational titles for the states, Canada and a number of other countries. Some of the company's bestselling titles are: The Mystery of the Biltmore House, Alabama Jeopardy and The Virginia Experience. Despite their recent success, the company maintains it's ready for the next century and is actually just warming up. |
