Fayette County's Planning Commission will have to have to called meeting to name a citizens committee to study a proposed new tree preservation ordinance.

That's because the County Commission, in directing that the committee be formed, gave the group only 60 days to complete its work.

The Planning Commission will meet at 5:30 p.m. today to name a five-member committee from resumes submitted to the county office.

The committee will study the proposed tree preservation ordinance and possibly recommend changes before the Planning Commission votes on whether to recommend final adoption by the County Commission.
