Three slightly
injured in north Fayette pileup By MONROE ROARK

Three
people went to the hospital Monday morning after
a nasty-looking auto accident at Ga. Highway 314
and New Hope Road, but there were no serious
injuries, although the damage to the vehicles
indicated otherwise.
According
to the Fayette County Sheriff's Department, a
1987 Chevrolet Blazer on New Hope Road pulled up
to the stop sign at Hwy. 314 and pulled out in
front of a 1997 Ford Ranger going southbound on
the highway. The incident occurred during the
morning rush hour, at approximately 8:35 a.m.
The
Ranger made contact in the area of the Blazer's
driver side door, causing the Blazer to overturn
and come to rest upside down. Both occupants of
the Blazer were wearing their seatbelts, and one
was still suspended by his when authorities
arrived.
The
two in the Blazer were taken to Fayette Community
Hospital but mainly had bumps and bruises,
according to the Sheriff's Department. The driver
of the Ranger, who was not wearing a seatbelt,
was taken to Southern Regional Medical Center in
Riverdale, and a deputy who took his statement
there said his injuries initially did not appear
to be severe either.
