For McMenamin..

Today, we often question whether we should even bother to vote. I write this letter urging everyone eligible to take the time to vote, then urging each one even more to cherish that vote enough to make it worthwhile. We disdain politicians and look down on them and their motivation because we have put in office individuals who should not have been representing us. It is our own fault.

They could not have disgraced their positions and us if we had not put them there in the first place. We are responsible for our own apathy, an apathy that threatens our futures and our way of life.

In Peachtree City, we have been very fortunate to have had representation that cared about our city and our way of life. They have fought to see that our growth was controlled, and the special place we have chosen to live remained “special.” We have been very lucky to have them in office in years past.

I am writing to express my support for one of those individuals, one who has already proven that she cares about Peachtree City and our community. She is Annie McMenamin, and she has competently and wisely served as our representative on the City Council, Post 1, and is running again for that position.

Annie has always been available to anyone needing help. She has given of her time and energy to be present and knowledgeable about any issue involving our city. She has graciously tried to improve any inequity or problem perceived by any citizen, and she has done all this without becoming involved in the typical backbiting and brouhaha we associate with most politicians.

First, I hope you will take the time to vote. Second, I hope you will return to office a person who has already demonstrated that she can and will ably, caring, and professionally represent each of us as long as she is in office.
