Council elections set for Tuesday

By MONROE ROARK
Staff Writer

Two seats on the City Council of Peachtree City will be up for grabs Tuesday when voters go to the polls to cast their ballots for Post 1 and Post 2.

Both are at-large positions, meaning every voter in the city can vote for both.

Incumbent Annie McMenamin is running in Post 1 against Melvin Ewing. In Post 2, Jim Pace has chosen not to run again, so his seat will be filled by either Chuck Lehman, Bruce Perlman or Dan Tennant.

A runoff, if necessary, will be Tuesday, Nov. 16.

Voters are required to have proper identification when they come to the polls, which are open from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m.

Since both Peachtree City and Fayetteville have contracted with the Fayette County election office to run the election, the ballots will be tabulated Tuesday night at the county election office in the County Administrative Complex on Stonewall Avenue in Fayetteville.

Election results will not be known until after press time for Wednesday's edition of The Citizen, but they will be available late Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning on The Citizen's Web site, at www.thecitizennews.com.
