EMC worker proves to be a lifesaver for one resident

When Coweta-Fayette EMC lineman Marcellus Ware left for work one morning, he never suspected that he would be a hero by day's end.

On his way to a job site in Fayette County, though, he happened on a man who was the apparent victim of a heart attack. Already, a young couple had stopped to assist, but the man's car was locked and the window closed.

Stopping to offer assistance, Ware immediately began to perform CPR on the man. After three minutes, he found a pulse. An ambulance the arrived and transported the man to Newnan Hospital.

“Marcellus Ware is the type of employee that any company would be proud to have on board,” said EMC president Michael Whiteside.” It's ironic that it was one of our `Power Rangers' who came upon the scene; their job is to respond quickly to power outages.”

Whiteside is extremely proud of his employee.

“The ability to perform CPR is a sign of service to your fellow man. Marcellus' philosophy is one that Coweta-Fayette EMC has followed for over 50 years, and we're very glad that he was at the right place at the right time,” said Whiteside.
