News Briefs

A local family is looking for anyone who may have seen a hit-and-run accident Tuesday afternoon in Fayetteville.

A Fayette County High School student was riding his bicycle home on the sidewalk on the west side of Ga. Highway 85 between 3:30 and 3:45 when he was struck by a Ford Explorer at Habersham Road. According to the victim's mother, the driver ran over the bicycle, stopped to see if the youth could get up, then sped off. The bicyclist, a 15-year-old boy, was not injured.

Anyone who witnessed this accident is urged to call the Fayetteville Police Department at 770-461-4441 and speak to Lt. Lash.

Clayton College & State University will have an information forum for potential transfer and non-traditional students from 6 - 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 28. A non-traditional student is any student who begins college more than five years after graduating high school.

The forum will be on the CCSU campus in the Harry S. Downs Center for Continuing Education, room 101. Four-year, two-year and certificate programs will be discussed.

No prior college experience is necessary to start at CCSU, although individuals holding associate degrees are welcome to come and begin pursuing their bachelor's degrees. Also, the more than 80 college courses now available on-line through CCSU will be discussed.

For information phone 770-961-3502.
