Half the items on an already short Fayetteville City Council agenda will probably be tabled tomorrow night. Council meets at 7 p.m. at City Hall, and public hearings are scheduled on a proposed new tree protection ordinance and proposed restrictions on parking tractor-trailer trucks in residential neighborhoods. During council's work session last week, local developers asked the group to hold off on the tree protection ordinance and appoint a committee to study the proposed law, and council members seemed inclined to do so. The city Planning Commission has asked for more time to study the truck parking restrictions, so that item probably will be delayed as well. Agenda items likely to receive action include Jan Trammell's request for rezoning that would allow an office building at 355 N. Jeff Davis Drive, and a priority list of 18 city streets in line to receive state funding for resurfacing. Trammell wants to use an existing house on the two-thirds-acre lot for an office. Candidates for city council seats in Peachtree City and Fayetteville will square off in a public forum today in Fayetteville. Fayette County Young Republicans and Occumed Management Associates of Peachtree City will host the reception at the Depot in Fayetteville, 2:30 - 4:30 p.m. For information, phone Chastity Mundy chairman, at 770-487-3919 or 770-401-8896.
