The McIntosh Cheifs volleyball team have played some great matches recently and begin their journey into the post season on the top of their game.

Celebrating Senior Night recently, the Chiefs hosted LaGrange and Mays. The Chiefs took on the Grangers first and beat them in two games, 15-3 and 15-5. Whitney Wallis scored seven points in the match, five of which came from aces. Vanessa Contreras scored six points and recorded one kill.

The Chiefs handled Mays in two games as well, winning 15-4, 15-7. Heather Dockstader scored seven points, five of which came from aces, and recorded four kills in the match. Kelly Powers also scored seven points in the match. McIntosh illustrated their depth and their individual skill.

Because of Senior Night, all six of the seniors on the McIntosh squad were presented with pearl earrings from the Booster Club. Refreshments were served after the match and Kristi Oates presented the seniors with a hand made photo album. Gag gifts were given to the non-seniors by the seniors.

After the niceties of Senior Night, McIntosh had to put on their most severe game faces when they took on their rivals, the Fayette County Tigers at Fayette County High School. The first game was actually hotly contested, with the Chiefs just edging out the Tigers, 15-12. Heather Dockstader scored five points in the first game while recording six kills. Vanessa Contreras helped lead the team in the second game, which McIntosh won 15-5, with six points.

The other team at the meet at Fayette County High School was Douglas. The Chiefs defeated Douglas in two games, 15-4 and 15-3. Whitney Wallis led all scorers in the first game with seven points and Megan Bartels scored eight points in the second game. The wins kept McIntosh undefeated as they headed in to the area tournament.
