The Landmark boy's cross country team just keeps on keeping on. This past Saturday, the War Eagles ran at the 27th annual Furman Invitational Cross Country meet in Greenville, S.C. 75 teams were invited from all over the southeast to the meet and 67 of those teams ran. Landmark faced some of the top programs from Tennessee, North Carolina, Alabama, and even some of their toughest competition here in Georgia in Brookwood and Milton.

With 475 runners participating in the meet, Landmark knew that they would have to battle to run the race they know they are capable of. The War Eagles did not disappoint and gave a very good showing, finishing third overall.

Kyle Rabbit placed third overall, just seven seconds off of his personal record with a time of 15:43. Nathan Kosiba from Peachtree City placed seventh overall with a time of 16:09. Also getting team points for Landmark were Clark Rivers of Fayetteville, who placed 47th with a time of 17:08, Blake Fertitta from Fayetteville, who placed 51st with a time of 17:10 and Eric Sumner of Peachtree City, who finished 67th with a time of 17:27.

Joseph Cawood and Wes Glasshess finished sixth and seventh for the War Eagles.

This weekend, Landmark will compete at the Carrollton Last Chance Meet. With all of their recent success, Landmark is in an excellent position to get a number one ranking in the entire state of Georgia in all classifications.
