Lake lures residents
to Brechin Park The fishing
lake in Brechin Park was just one of several
factors that led the Grant Moore family to their
new home in Fayette County.
The Moores, who are
moving to this area from Jonesboro, became the
first residents of Brechin Park, a new
neighborhood in Fayette County named for an
ancient city in Scotland called Brechin
(pronounced Brecken).
Grant Moore, Good
Cents Program product and brand manager for the
Southern Company, said the time was
right for selling their old home, and the
family started looking for a new home in Fayette
County, where they had always wanted to live.
Moore and his wife,
Jan, agreed that a major consideration was
getting their 13-year-old son, Jared, into
Fayette County's highly regarded school system.
Brechin Park is across Ga. Highway 74 from
Fayette County's newest school complex, which
houses Starr's Mill High School, Rising Starr
Middle School and Peeples Elementary School.
Jared is now an
eighth grader at the middle school, and he is
looking forward to attending Starr's Mill High
School in the future. Jared also likes the
lake, said Moore. He's caught fish
out of it every day since we moved here.
We also
wanted to select a builder we could trust when we
made our new home purchase, said Moore,
whose family is now living in a home on Bontura
Drive built by Ravin Homes.
I've worked
with Ravin Homes through the Good Cents Program
for over 15 years, and I know the Rossetti
family. I also liked the fact that
the Ravin organization is active in their local
home builders association and that they have
supported the organization's program, he
added.
Moore said that
while work was proceeding on the family's new
home, he was able to work with Michael Rossetti,
president of Ravin Homes, to include several
special features, including a
screened porch on the back which has a
15.5-foot-high cathedral ceiling and a detached
four-car garage.
Brechin Park is
being developed by Starrsville Development Corp.,
a joint venture of the two home builders there,
Ravin Homes and Ray Wright Homes Inc. When
completed, the neighborhood will have
approximately 80 homes priced from the $200,000s
to the $300,000s. Home sites are a minimum one
acre, and some waterfront lots will be available.

The neighborhood
contains two seven-acre ponds, Brechin Pond,
which will belong to the homeowners association,
and another pond which is owned by a private
homeowner.
The community also
will have a gazebo, park, nature trail, curbs and
underground gutters, street lights, and will be
served by county water lines and gas and electric
lines.
There is a strict
set of protective covenants and restrictions.
Ravin Homes, which is building 40 of the homes in
the community, was founded by Vince Rossetti, a
veteran of more than 40 years in home
construction, and has produced thousands of homes
in Peachtree City over the past quarter of a
century.
The family-owned
company has also built in Eagle's Landing, White
Oak and StoneBriar communities in Fayetteville.
