Your moment is now!

By DR. KNOX HERDON
Pastor

Have you ever watched events unfold and said to yourself, “I sure wish I had been involved in that great event?” Or you may have said, “I wish I had more opportunities to witness for Christ?” I have often said I would love to do more for my neighborhood and casual acquaintances. I feel Almighty God sets up these events and opportunities all the time for us to witness for Him but often we choose to overlook them or they go over our heads.

While serving as a chaplain in Korea, I learned from some Korean Missionaries a term called “synchronicity.” It is another term for the will of God. It means the synchroniziation of people, places, and events that happen in your life and in mine for God's purpose to unfold.

There couldn't be a more synchronistic event than what is coming to your door in the mail. In the month of October, every household in Fayette and Coweta county, will be receiving the “Jesus video” in the mail free of charge. This video has been shown to millions of people across the United States and the world with many people praying to accept Jesus Christ into their lives as Savior.

How does this effect you? It is one of those great witness opportunities to say to a neighbor or a friend or a relative, “did you get the Jesus video that came in the mail this week?” There will never be a greater opportunity than this to share your faith with them. If this bothers you to do this or you feel “uncomfortable” doing it then I suggest you get over it. A good way to break the ice in witnessing is to “just do it,” and let God handle all the details.

What I personally love about this Jesus video project is that over 82 Churches on the southside of Atlanta are all involved and will be listed as supporting this heavenly project. The churches are finally getting it “right” in loving one another and realizing that we have so much more that binds us together in Christ as Christians, than we have that separate us. Praise the Lord!

Here is your chance, to witness, don't let another opportunity go by the way and leave you on the outside looking in. Share your faith. One day a trumpet will sound and Jesus will be coming back and it will be too late. He said “if you confess me before men, I will confess you before my Father in Heaven.” Watch the mail and pray!
