The Emory Cross Country girls team is getting some help from some former McIntosh Chiefs. Nicola Craver and Rachel Olson, both from Peachtree City and McIntosh graduates, have ran well in the Eagles first three meets.

Craver, a freshman, has improved on her times from race to race. In the University of The South meet, Craver ran the 5,000 meter distance in a time of 21:15. In the next race, the Western Carolina Invitational, Craver finished with a time of 21:12. Craver had the best finish of her year at the Georgia State University Invitational, placing 42 out of 147 runners and finishing with a time of 20:56.

Olson, a junior transfer from the University of Kentucky, placed 20th at the University of the South Invitational. She has recorded finishes of 22:25, 22:11, and 22:23 this season. The Eagles race again at the Sate Championships on Oct. 2. They are vying to win the NCAA Regional Title and a berth to the NCAA National Meet for the ninth straight year.
