One of Fayette County's elder statesmen is resting at Piedmont Hospital after having surgery for a blood clot on his brain. Floy Farr, 87, was set to speak to the Tyrone Kiwanis Club Tuesday afternoon, but went to the hospital earlier that day. Examinations by doctors discovered the blood clot and Farr underwent surgery Wednesday afternoon. Peachtree City Rotary Club president Jim Watkins reported at yesterday's annual phone book advertisers' luncheon that Farr was doing fine after surgery. Farr is a member of the club. Farr served as Coweta-Fayette EMC president from 1976-1995 and also played a leading role in developing the community that became Peachtree City.
