Spotlight on Business
Local business is creating pottery and smiles

Wendy Lynn Tisdale took matters into her own capable hands when M.J. Designs closed in Fayetteville last year. As manager of the Quick Bisque department inside M.J. Designs at the Fayette Pavilion, the 1996 Griffin High School graduate saw how popular the ceramic arts were in Fayetteville among young and old alike.

Possibly the youngest entrepreneur in Fayetteville, Wendy is very modest about her accomplish-ments. “I bought it and expanded it.” Wendy said. “We are the only contemporary studio on the south side, people come from all over. We're catering to a variety of different groups including scout troops earning their badge in ceramics, women's groups, senior citizens, people looking to make their own dinner ware, birthday parties and church youth groups, there is such a variety of people creating and enjoying ceramics.” said Wendy with a big smile. You can tell that Wendy is enjoying her first business as she moves from table to table with an assistant, giving decorating options and advice.

One price written on the bottom of the piece is all inclusive, painting, lessons, glazing and firing.

Wendy's Contempor-ary Bisque is located behind Arbys on GA 85 North, next to Baci's. Open Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., and on Sunday's from noon to 6 p.m., Wendy can be reached at 678-817-0410
