Fayette Shoes? The Shoe Mart? Whichever - same store same great shoes

The Shoe Mart is owned and operated by Pat Gillespie of Fayette County. Pat started Fayette Shoes in 1983, and in 1992 opened The Shoe Mart. In 1996, she combined the two stores into one large facility at 1485 Ga. Highway 34 East in Newnan with over 6,500 square feet of space.

When she moved to Newnan, she brought her staff with her including her daughter, Mandy Killebrew, Mary Evelyn Merritt, Helen Allen and Sue Anglin. Linda Collins and Phyllis Green joined the staff shortly after opening the larger store.

Asked what has made her store successful, Pat answered, “We founded our business on selling quality name-brand shoes at good prices, and we still do.” Familiar brands such as SAS, Rockport, Timberland, Justin Boots, 9 West, Aigner, Enzo, LifeStride, Nike, Reebok, Adidas and New Balance can be found for the whole family. Men, women and children can shop for all kinds of footwear at The Shoe Mart from athletic shoes to dress shoes in all price ranges.

Since moving to Newnan with additional space, they have added many new brands such as Clarks, Cole Haan, Born, Dyables, Sak Handbags and wallets, and most recently a line of very nice costume jewelry.

The Shoe Mart is now a Red Wing “ideal inventory” store carrying a huge selection of steel and non-steel work boots for ladies and men. Men's sizes 6 to 16 with widths from B to EEE are kept in stock. They also carry Wolverine, Georgia Boot, Carolina and Magnum Hi Tec.

Their very popular semiannual clearance sales, conducted every January and July, are well known to the people of Fayette and Coweta counties.

The Shoe Mart is at 1485 Ga. Highway 34 East, on Bullsboro Drive across from Yamaha in Newnan. Store hours are Monday through Saturday 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday 1 - 5 p.m. They can be reached at 770-251-7300.
