Regions Bank enters market with cutting edge technology

Take one of the nation's strongest banks and combine it with the latest advances in financial services technology. Add products designed for your needs, plus convenient customer service. Next, make it all easy to access seven days a week. Now bring it home. That's what you'll get when you enroll in RegionsNet-Regions Bank online banking.

The Regions name may be new to Fayette County, but there's a lot of tradition behind it. The company began a quarter of a century ago when three strong community banks joined together to better serve their customers. Today, Regions fulfills the financial needs of more than one million people throughout the South. Currently Regions has 143 offices in Georgia and more than 700 locations throughout the South.

Fayette's president, Mark Kearsley, remarks about the recent conversion from Fayette County Bank to Regions Bank: "Our customers have the best of both worlds, the personal service of a locally managed bank, backed by the resources of one of the strongest banking companies in America. RegionsNet, our Internet banking product, has been met with tremendous excitement from our customer base. This is a tool that will definitely be utilized by the people in our market. Aside from the convenience and accessibility factors, you can't beat the promotional deal that we are presently offering."

During the RegionsNet Blitz promotion, which lasts until Oct. 29, customers can register for online banking FREE of charge. Additionally, if you choose to enroll in RegionsNet Online Banking with Bill Payment, you will receive that service absolutely free for three months.

Customers will be able to access their accounts whenever and wherever they are, providing they have access to a computer with Internet service. Privacy is always protected, and RegionsNet's operating system meets the highest standards for computer security. Data encryption is used to verify identification of customers and preserve their privacy. Additionally, firewalls and filtering routers that limit access to the system are employed.

Unlike other online banking services at some banks, RegionsNet doesn't require you to install software on your computer to use it. All you need is Internet access through an Internet service provider of your choice.

Enroll today! It's easy. All you'll need is a Regions checking account. Then simply visit the Regions Bank Web site at www.regionsbank.com and follow the links to the RegionsNet enrollment form.

With the recent conversion of Regions Bank from Fayette County Bank, computer systems were updated and replaced. Rather than discarding the old equipment, nancy Price of Regions Bank made a phone call to the Peachtree City Library. With the help of Jim Graser, a volunteer fund-raiser who teaches computer classes for senior citizens, hundreds of dollars of computer equipment were donated to this worthy cause.

Any of the equipment that cannot be utilized for the computer classes will be sold at the library's book sale, sponsored by the Peachtree City Library Corporation. According to Jill Kuhns, technology/training manager at the Peachtree City Library, the computers will be sold at the library Oct. 30 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Oct. 31 from 1 - 4 p.m.
