Shoes are more than a fashion statement

At LaViri Comfort Shoes & Pedorthics, the care and comfort of your feet is the very sole of their business.

Richard Young, owner of LaViri, is a board certified pedorthist (C.Ped.). Pedorthics is the "design, manufacture, fit and/or modification of shoes and foot orthoses to alleviate foot problems caused by disease, overuse or injury." As a C.Ped., Richard has demonstrated knowledge of foot anatomy, conservative treatment of common foot problems, proper shoe fit, shoe construction and modification, and fabrication of custom foot orthoses. All orthopedic work is done on site and requires a prescription from your doctor.

At LaViri, many over the counter, non-prescriptive products also are carried; such as diabetic socks, better quality shoe inserts from BirkenstockÆ, SuperfeetÆ, and Bauerfeind, foot lotions and salves, Spa™ compression socks and hosiery by Bauerfeind, and many other foot care products. This fall, installation of an electronic foot scanner and milling device is planned. This will allow LaViri to offer custom shoe inserts without a prescription and with same day delivery.

LaViri also carries Birkenstock and Solidus shoes and sandals. Birkenstock, known for its comfort sandals, also makes shoes and boots with the same Birkenstock comfort features. Solidus, also from Germany, produces comfort sandals and dress shoes, many of which are made to accept orthotics prescribed by doctors.

LaViri is at 347 North Glynn St. (Highway 85) approximately one half mile north of the courthouse. You can stop by Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., or you can call 770-461-3360. You may also e-mail them at: c-ped@rxfootcenter.com.
