Andy's nursery is a proven winner

Just like the beautiful plants and flowers they sell, Andy's Nursery is growing. This family-owned and operated business is about to open its third and largest location at 915 Ga. Highway 16 East in Newnan.

Owners are anticipating opening the doors of the 6,000-sq. ft. store and four-greenhouse facility the beginning of October.

Andy's opened its north Fayetteville location on Ga. Highway 85 27 years ago. Andy Martin turned his business over to his children when a heart transplant eight years ago made his retirement a necessity.

Andy's specializes in large trees and unique plant selections. The Martin family, who inherited Andy's green thumb, makes sure that Andy's is stocked with large quantities of high quality nursery stock at low discount prices. Old fashioned quality service and low prices have been the key to their successful growth.

"Our dad started this business and people really appreciate and depend on us for all their plant needs, and there is usually no waiting period for large orders. We have expanded our gift line three times what it was before," explained Robbi Martin. Their gift line includes fountains, everything you need to build a pond, statues, patio fireplaces, birdbaths, bird houses and bird feeders, as well as clay and ceramic pots.

Andy's has also expanded its landscape and design service to include irrigation systems. "We have a registered landscape architect and three landscape designers — we help you plan it and we can install it, too," Robbi said, instead of spending hours trying to figure out what a perennial is or what you need to plant.

Landscape designers Tim Martin, Curtis Nash, Travis King and Eric Roth will be at the new location in Coweta County each weekend in October to answer all your questions. They'll be so glad you came by and asked!

Andy's Nursery and Landscaping Company strives to be more than a retail nursery. They also want to be an "information center." Andy's sends out quarterly newsletters full of information. The fall newsletter reports on shade gardening, deer resistant plantings as well as information on grasses and ferns. Andy's also is intent on enriching the community. The company has donated many plants and plant materials to area schools and businesses.

Fall is the best time to plant trees, flowers and shrubs and with all the excitement at Andy's newest location Kevin Martin will share all his secrets with you so you can have the most beautiful yard possible. What's more, fall also brings a great opportunity to get back to your garden.

Andy's will carry a full line of supplies from fertilizers to pine straw.

Everyone is invited to the grand opening the beginning of October. There will be many special sale items and special horticultural speakers.

Shop Andy's Monday - Saturday 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Sunday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Or you can call 770-252-3030 with all your fall season questions.

Robbi, Tim and Kevin Martin are excited about the opportunity to grow in Coweta County and to keep the family tradition of growing together.
