In this bloated, exaggerated, hyperbolic world of “The News,” can we really discern significance anymore? News programs found on Fox, ABC, NBC and CBS have crossed the formerly broad line separating information from exhilaration. Need I say more than, “JFK plane crash”?

Sheriff: No escapes yet from current county jail

To the citizens of Fayette County:

County should put big new jail outside city of Fayetteville

Citizens of Fayetteville, beware! It appears that the Fayette County Commissioners are conducting a media blitz concerning the proposed jail expansion with titles such as “No State Prison,” “We're Not going To Build a Maximum Security Prison.”

Avoid PTC traffic nightmare by restricting more developement

Anne Cowles' article on Peachtree City in the AJC [Sept. 20] presented a good look at Peachtree City's past and present. However, if Peachtree City is to be used as a “concept” for intelligent growth, we must deliberate on what lies ahead in the city's future.
