Academy, one of the Atlanta area's oldest private
schools, turns 100 years old this month. A
Centennial Celebration kick-off is scheduled for
this weekend, starting Thursday with a centennial
display unveiling and lunch.
The
school was recognized Tuesday on NBC's

Celebratory
events this weekend include shows, games and an
academy-wide art show.
Woodward
was founded by Col. John Charles Woodward as the
Georgia Military Academy in 1900, a boarding
school for boys. Today, Woodward is a
coeducational say school serving 2,800 students
pre-kindergarten through 12th grade, with six
schools on three separate campuses in metro
Atlanta.
