Lining the streets of Main Street and Terrentine Road at the intersection of Ga. highways 16 and 54 is Old Town Sharpsburg. This Saturday and Sunday it will be the scene of the 15th annual Fall Festival. Each year the festival displays arts and crafts and antiques, showcases live music and dancing, and has some of the tastiest festival food for sale. The festival is supported by local churches, which provide some of the entertainment, food and exhibits. The Sharpsburg Baptist Church will have a raffle and sell hamburgers, hotdogs and baked goods to raise money. The raffle features goods that are donated by local businesses and organizations. Cokes Chapel United Methodist Church will provide the barbecue. This year, the Olive Branch Ladies, a group within the Sharpsburg Baptist Church, will raffle off a five-piece wicker set to raise money for their mission work. They also will sell jellies and jams. Among all of the shops, which will be open all weekend during the festival, and the antiques and arts and crafts there will be a constant flow of live entertainment. The stage will be filled with local musicians and singers, as well as several clogging performances from Rachel Ferguson and her dancers. Ferguson teaches a clogging course at the Coweta County Recreation Department. The festival will be open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both Friday and Saturday. For information call 770-251-2000 or 770-253-4446.
