Quick-Turner reunion set

A reunion of the Eli Quick - Drucilla Turner families will be in Inman the weekend of Sept. 17.

The marriage of Quick and Turner took place in Fayette County June 14, 1828 and it is believed the families came from Marlboro County, S.C.

Three sons moved to Alabama in 1885 and four daughters lived in Coweta County.

The group will meet at 10 a.m. Sept. 18 at the Inman United Methodist Church. There will be 16 Quick researchers on hand to assist people for filling in the empty spots on their genealogy charts.

The reunion is in connection with “Inman Farm Heritage Days,” a weekend event featuring several hundred farm tractors, both old and new. There will be storytelling, crafts, food, music, children's activities and an early Sunday morning outdoor church service.

For information phone Sue Horn, Birmingham, Ala., 205-841-0567 or e-mail her at bhorn1@bellsouth.net.
