Inman UMC schedules 3rd annual outdoor service during Inman Farm Heritage Days

The Inman United Methodist Church, in conjunction with the third annual Inman Farm Heritage Days celebration, will hold a Sunday morning service in a wooded area on the site where pioneer families worshipped in a brush arbor, and where an early sanctuary was built in the 1800s.

The service will begin at 8:45 a.m. on Sept. 19 and will feature special music and a review of church and community history by Sara Jane Overstreet. The speaker will be the Rev. John R. (Dusty) Rhodes, who pastored the Inman and Brooks Methodist churches in the 1970s.

The outdoor service will be held approximately one-half mile east of the Inman UMC on Hills Bridge Rd., on property adjacent to the Farm heritage show site.

Inman Farm Heritage Days begins Friday, Sept. 17 and runs through Sunday, Sept. 19. The festival is sponsored for the third year by the Inman Church, the Georgia Antique Engine Club, the West Georgia Two-Cylinder Club and the North Georgia Two-Cylinder Club.

Last year's three-day show drew an estimated 10,000 people. There is no charge for admission and parking is free.
