A crowd of more than 100 was on hand for a ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating the dedication of the new Siemens 100,000-sq. ft. corporate U.S. headquarters in Peachtree City. Constructed by Group VI Corporation, the three-story building was designed in conjunction with very specific needs for a high-tech industry. In addition to customer service representatives and corporate executives, the location houses research and development in which new products are developed and established ones are tested. There was stiff competition for this project, said Group VI president Jim Pace. Peachtree City's Mayor Bob Lenox, who worked with Group VI in bringing Siemens to the area, described the meetings as love at first sight. We offered a strong local economy and outstanding quality of life, and they brought a beautiful building, additional taxes, new jobs and great people. Standing in front of the three-story glass atrium of the new facility, president and CEO of Siemens Stanley Kunka outlined the success of his group. We have come home, announced Kunka after Lenox assisted him in cutting the ribbon. The new Siemens headquarters is in Peachtree City's Westpark Office Center near other corporate headquarters including Goody Products and Quantegy Inc.
