Supporting our community: Time to think about 'Noel November'

By CAROLYN McCOLLOUGH
Presideny, Fayett County Board of RealtorsÆ

I know the weather is still hot — really hot — but it isn't too soon to start thinking about Christmas.

In the Fayette County area, one of the highlights of the season is the “Noel November” Celebration of Trees and Wreaths, which is sponsored by the Fayette County Board of RealtorsÆ.

Our association's major fund-raising event of the year, “Noel November” is scheduled Saturday, Nov. 6, at the Fairgrounds in Fayetteville. We are asking for all of you — organizations, businesses and individuals — to include this community celebration in your plans for the holiday season.

Co-chairmen for this year's festivities are Terri Kellerman of Coldwell Banker Fulton Realty and Dave Edmondson of Century 21 Southern Crescent Realty.

Recipients of the proceeds from this year's event will be the Asden Johnson Youth Protection home and the Fayette Family YMCA. Through “Noel November”, the Board of RealtorsÆ has contributed approximately $35,000 to local non-profit charitable organizations in Fayette County over the last four years.

This has been a good project for our association, and we are proud of our role in this worthwhile community effort.

(The Fayette County Board or RealtorsÆ is one of more than 1,800 local boards and associations of RealtorsÆ that comprise the National Association of RealtorsÆ. As the nation's largest trade association, NAR is “The Voice for Real Estate,” representing nearly 750,000 members involved in all aspects of the real estate industry. The Fayette County board can be contacted by calling 770-461-2401.)
