School official to
address NAACP Fayette
County assistant school superintendent Fred
Oliver will address the September meeting of the
Fayette NAACP branch Sept. 1 at 4 p.m.
The
meeting will be at the Gathering Place, 203
McIntosh Trail.
Oliver,
an African-American, will discuss the status of
the school system, disciplinary procedures and
other issues.
The
branch also will be preparing for the upcoming
second annual Freedom Fund Banquet, to be at
Aberdeen Woods Conference Center Oct. 23. Funds
are raised at the annual gala to support the
NAACP and branch activities. It also is an
opportunity to honor contributors and celebrate
freedom.
