Community Hospital's diagnostics finds way to help
patients beat the clock What do you do when 24 hours is just not enough? In addition to daily workloads and heavy schedules, people are finding it more difficult to manage time from day to day. In an effort to combat this problem, Fayette Community Hospital's Diagnostics Department has designed a way for patients to beat the clock. Now open Monday through Friday 7 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., with screening mammography also available on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Diagnostics has expanded its hours to accommodate the sometimes demanding schedules of patients. By implementing this new schedule, we are allowing our patients to still receive quality healthcare without having to take time off of work, said Mark Heard, diagnostics service coordinator. In addition to its regular services, the Diagnostics Department now includes angiograms, arteriograms, diagnostics-directed biopsies and other services. Staffed by technologists who are accredited by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology, the department uses such equipment as high speed helical CT scanners, digital fluoroscopy equipment and state of the art ultrasound units. Most services are by appointment only. Call 770-719-7007 from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. to schedule an appointment. Fayette Community Hospital, a not for profit subsidiary of Piedmont Medical Center and member of PROMINA Health System, is on Ga. Highway 54 in Fayetteville. The 100-bed community hospital partners with Southern Regional Medical Center and is affiliated with Scottish Rite Children's Medical Center. Services include 24-hour emergency department, medical/surgical, critical care, diagnostics, including laboratory, radiology, and mammography, respiratory, physical therapy and rehabilitation, outpatient surgery and comprehensive outpatient services.
