The Peachtree City Heritage Historic Preservation Committee is gearing up for more activities and looking for more participants. A fall meeting is in the works, according to Gerri Holt, the group's founder. The exact date and time, as well as the speaker, will be announced in the next few days. The committee has been meeting only when necessary, but Holt says it will start gathering at a specific time each month, beginning this fall. David Piet currently the group's chairman, while Sandra Woods is the secretary. At the upcoming meeting, committees will be formed to tackle the following tasks: Identifying historic sites in Peachtree City; Restoring gravesites; Identifying indigenous plants at gravesites; Writing grant applications; and Studying public art in Peachtree City. Membership is open to any resident of the city all that will come, said Holt. There are currently about 25 members. Let's make the fall meeting an exciting discussion, Holt said. This meeting will start it all. For information, call Holt at 770-487-1826 or Woods at 770-487-1132.
