The Tyrone Recreation Department will hold registration for their fall youth softball league the next two Saturdays. Registration will be held at the Tyrone Recreation Center from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Slow itch softball will be open to children 10 and under, while fast pitch softball will be open to children 12 and under.

The season will be around 10 games long and will begin towards the end of September. Team shirts will be provided by the Tyrone Softball Association, but parents must supply batting helmets, gloves, and shoes for their children.

The cost is $40 for the first child. Two children from the same family can register for a total of $70, and more than two children in a family can register for the discounted price of $100.

There is also a need for coaches in the Tyrone Softball League. The players look to the coaches to develop a winning attitude as well as learning the skills necessary to play. There will also be an adult co-ed softball league beginning in November. If you are interested in that league, either call the aforementioned men or stop by registration during the next two Saturdays. The games of summer never have to end.
