God
is up to something heremore than we can see and
know The Rev. Dr. John Hatcher Pastor Roger Powell of Fayetteville Church of God, which sponsored a unity Tent Revival last week, said that God is doing things so far beyond what we can see and know in the natural or in the spiritual. Look at the facts: During the Tent Revival, the Church of God invites two lifelong Baptists to preach and minister. But there's more. The Church of God a thoroughgoing denominational churchinvites two independent Charismatic pastors to preach and minister. No one has been encouraged to abandon his or her beliefs and distinctive doctrinal positions. But we have been encouraged by the Spirit of the Living God to exalt Jesus Christ, whom we all call Lord and Savior. There's a monthly prayer meeting on the first Thursday. It's for all people and it's been led by ministers from different backgrounds. Catholics, Protestants, Charismatics are all participating in this prayer meeting. No telling what God is going to do just there. Here's more evidence. Sitting with all sorts of ministers at the IHOP breakfast table Tuesday morning, The Rev. Dr. Justin Kollmeyer, pastor of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, invites the whole raft of ministers to participate in the ordination of a Lutheran minister. Now, that's extraordinary. Can you imagine a Pentecostal pastor laying hands on a Liturgical ordination candidate? That's the Spirit! But this is the flavor of stuff happening all across our area. It's happening in many communities. God is up to somethingsomething more than we can see and know. More evidence. Because of an ardent commitment to prayer on the part of some faithful Peachtree City believersespecially women, this coming October will see the Jesus Video mailed to every residence in Fayette County. Can you imagine what's going to happen to thousands of VCRs? They are going to be redeemed. Heretofore, they have played R rated and maybe a few X rated movies. Now, they will screen the greatest story ever told: the birth, death, resurrection of Jesus Christ, the man of the last two millenniums. I can't express it in words how excited I am about what the Spirit is doing in these last few months of the last thousand years. I've been in the pastoral ministry for 25 years. However, I've never been more excited and more anticipatory of what God is doing. Indeed these are the greatest days to be alive on planet earth. The Rev. Dr. John Hatcher is pastor of River's Edge Community Church in Fayetteville.
