Board taps new
principals for MHS, Flat Rock M.S. By

McIntosh
High School's new principal is Greg Stillions,
former assistant principal and athletic director
at the Peachtree City secondary school.
Stillions
has worked in the Fayette County system for three
years, coming here from Mount Zion High School in
Clayton County, where he was an administrative
assistant and co-department chairman for physical
education and health.
In
addition to holding various positions in teaching
and administration, Stillions started and owned a
sportswear company called Dispatch Wear Inc.
Stillions
was recognized in 1996 and 1993 in Who's
Who in America's Teacher, in 1992 as
Clayton County's wrestling coach of the year and
was January's educator of the month at Mount Zion
High School. In 1991-1992, he was named Clayton
County's health educator of the year. Stillions
is a graduate of Purdue University and West
Georgia College, where he earned a master's
degree in health and physical education.
Flat
Rock Middle School's new principal is Tyrone
Jones, former assistant principal at the middle
school. Jones has worked in the Fayette County
system for two years and has served as assistant
principal for the Fayette County Summer School
and Fayette County
High Summer School.
Prior
experience includes a co-principal position at
two Muscogee Elementary summer schools and
assistant principal positions at two elementary
schools.
Jones
is a retired major in the U.S. Army reserve. He
earned his bachelor's degree from South Carolina
State University and a master's degree in reading
disabilities from Columbus State University. At
Troy State University, he earned a master's of
education in administration and supervision.
Mike
Davis, a McIntosh High teacher, was named
assistant principal at Starr's Mill High School.
Davis
has worked in the county school system for nine
years as a social studies teacher and served as
the school's representative on the school
district's communications committee.
Administrative positions also include head of
Fayette County School System's Administrative
Internship Program in 1998, a member of the
school's improvement committee and the steering
committee for the Southern Association of
Colleges and Schools report.
He
earned his bachelor's and master's degrees from
Ohio State University and master levels of
certification from West Georgia and the
University of Georgia. He was assistant head
football coach at Youngstown State University
from 1986-1989.
